Be Rose

Be Rose is an almost full-time studio potter working out of Horseshoe, North Carolina. Her and her partner run Pink Duck Pottery Studio. She got her BFA from Moore College of Art & Design in 2017 and has been a resident at Cub Creek Foundation, Iowa Center for Ceramics & Glass and Odyssey Clay works.

“My work is centered around curiosity and a learning mindset.

Every time I start a new series of pots I challenge myself with a new color scheme. This keeps me on my toes, keeps me interested in my work and keeps me testing out new mason stains. It’s important to me to be involved in the material aspect of my work, creating different clay body colors, slips and glazes. I’m drawn to the seemingly infinite variations I can create within color, shape and layered pattern. I tend to look at graphic design, textiles and paper crafts as a reference for color and motifs. All color schemes are premeditated, planned out in my notebook and then I adjust as I go.”
